Aggies defeat Washington 69-61

St. Agnes defeated St. Paul Washington 69-61 on Saturday with the help of Marcus Johnson, who scored 29 points. The game was tied 33-33 at the half but then the Aggies took over. Despite Marcus Johnson putting 27 points on the board, Saint Agnes lost to Harding 65-61. Johnson found success all over the court for the Aggies, making 60% (9-for-15) of shots attempted while also sinking 88% (7-for-8) of free throws attempted. Aggies Varsity Fall Short Against Christ’s Household Of Faith

Although Marcus Johnson put 22 points on the scoreboard, St. Agnes fell to Christ’s Household of Faith 58-52. The 6th seeded Saint Agnes Aggies defeated #3 seed New Life Academy 57-54 at New Life. Darius Lopez scored 16 points to lead the Aggies making 39% (7 for 18) of shot attempted.  Three other Aggies scored in double digits, Marcus Johnson, 15, Gary Smith had 11 and Brandon Plasch added 10. Aggies win 1st Round Playoff Game 54-24

Saint Agnes opened section playoffs with a 54-24 home win over Math and Science Academy. The Aggies were led by senior Darius Lopez with 23 points, Gary Smith added 13. Boys Open Section Playoffs at Home this Thursday

The boy’s basketball team earned the 6th seed for the upcoming section 4AA playoffs. They will host the 11th seed Math and Science Academy next Thursday, March 9 at 7:00 pm. The winner will face the winner of the New Life (#3) vs. Charter Stars (#14) on Saturday March 11, 7:00 at the higher seed.
