Girls top Concordia 55-44

Saint Agnes picked up a big Tri Metro Conference win tonight defeating Concordia Academy 55-44 on youth night at Saint Agnes. The Aggies were led by K’Lynn Lewis with 19 points. Adaya Sandifer added 13 while Bailey Larkin had 12 and Maria Gutzmann 11.  Saint Agnes lead 25-17 at halftime. The Aggies improve to 12-4

Aggies edge Visitation improve to 11-4

Saint Agnes defeated Tri Metro Conference rival Visitation 49-46 to improve to 11-4 overall and 2-1 in conference play. The Aggies got off to a slow start trailing by as much as 12 points in the first half. “They played unselfish team basketball to get back in to the game” said head coach L’Ronne Graves. 

6th Grade Boys Win St. Croix Catholic Tournament

The sixth grade boys basketball team took first place in the St .Croix Catholic Basketball Tournament this past Saturday. The team went 3-0 on the day. The sixth grade boys team is now 6-1 on the season and will play St. Odilia at 4:30 pm in Gruden Gym on January 15th.

Aggies defeat Washington 69-61

St. Agnes defeated St. Paul Washington 69-61 on Saturday with the help of Marcus Johnson, who scored 29 points. The game was tied 33-33 at the half but then the Aggies took over. Johnson led St. Agnes‘s offense, going 12-for-14 (86%) from the field while also sinking 63% (5-for-8) of free throws attempted. Norm Strickland (20 points) and Terrell Jones (6 points)

St. Agnes emerged victorious 64-56 against Edison on Friday on the strength of Marcus Johnson, who scored 27 points in their third game of the Trinity Invitational. Despite Marcus Johnson putting 27 points on the board, Saint Agnes lost to Harding 65-61. Johnson found success all over the court for the Aggies, making 60% (9-for-15) of shots attempted while also sinking 88% (7-for-8) of free throws attempted. Luke Brezny was also a key contributor with 8 points and one rebound. Terrell Jones (20 points) and Norm Strickland (6 points) each had multiple three-pointers.
