Saint Agnes picked up a big Tri Metro Conference win Friday defeating Concordia Academy 59-43 in Bandas Gym. The Aggies were lead by Darius Lopez, who scored 19 points.
The Aggies scored early, claiming a 28-14 lead at the half. Saint Agnes’s Lopez hit 8-for-14 (57%) shots from the floor. Two other players also added ten or more points. Brandon Plasch scored 12 points and Marcus Johnson put up 11 points. Also helping the effort for Saint Agnes were Gary Smith (9 points, 9 rebounds, 3 blocks), Kentale Morris (3 points, 1 rebound, 1 steal), Justin Bennett (3 points, 1 rebound, 2 steals), and Jon Prokop (2 points, 2 rebounds).
Saint Agnes finished the game with 34 rebounds (14 offensive / 20 defensive), three blocks and nine steals.
The boys will travel to Minneapolis Henry Monday and to St. Croix Lutheran on Tuesday. Tuesday’s game is a boys/Girls doubleheader at St. Croix. Girls tip off at 5:30 and the boys at 7:00.
