St. Agnes jumped out to an early lead on Minneapolis Roosevelt and captured a 12-0 victory on Thursday at Barnes Field Concordia University.
The game was decided quickly as St. Agnes exerted its will early with nine runs in the first three innings.
Kieran Walsh racked up three RBIs on two hits for St. Agnes. He singled in the first inning and tripled in the third inning.
Minneapolis Roosevelt couldn’t get anything going as long as Matthew Twaroski was on the bump. Minneapolis Roosevelt managed just two hits off of Twaroski, who allowed no earned runs, walked three and struck out four during his three innings of work.
Dylan Holte ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He allowed 12 runs in four innings, walked three and struck out two.
St. Agnes added six more runs in the bottom of the third. Erick Klein started the inning with a double, scoring Harrington.
St. Agnes built upon its lead with three runs in the fourth. A single byAlexander Halseth ignited the offense,, plating Matt Tibesar and Lopez. That was followed up by Max Floeder‘s single, plating Twaroski.
The Aggies will host St. Paul Academy in the second round of the section playoffs on Friday, may 27, 4:30 pm at Concordia University.
