St. Agnes jumped out to an early lead on Concordia Academy and captured a 12-0 victory on Friday at West Minnehaha Recreation Center.
With 11 runs in the first three innings, St. Agnes left no doubt about the eventual outcome.
An RBI single by Erick Klein, a walk by Matthew Twaroski, a hit by pitch, a walk by Nicholas Wallisch, a walk by Alexander Halseth, an error, an RBI single by Joseph Harrington, and a groundout by Kieran Walsh in the first inning and a two-run single by Wallisch and an RBI single by Halseth during the second inning supplied the early offense for St. Agnes.
St. Agnes was led by a flawless day at the dish by Harrington, who went 2-2 against Concordia Academy’s pitching.
St. Agnes’ Darius Lopez kept Concordia Academy off the scoreboard for all five innings he was on the mound. He pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on six hits while striking out three.
Dmitry Rock Gilbertson was charged with the loss. He allowed eight runs in one-third of an inning, walked four and struck out none.
The Aggies improved to 6-2 on the season and will travel to Columbia Heights on Monday. The C team defeated Concordia Academy 22-0.
